Last week I went on a 3hr BOAT CRUISE around the entire island of MANHATTAN for only $34! so cool. Went with Lara, Harriet, and her mom, Sue. Total blast.
I made BMs at home before I met them and we poured them into Coke cups...DIY.
Ellis Island
Lady Liberty! I can't help but throw a shoutout to MJ from the Black/White video on this one....and I think if you zoom in just enough, there's a funny blur on the torch that kinda looks like the ghost of MJ...
I'm on a BOAT, I'm on a BOAT. Never thought I see the day, Big Boat Comin' my way..."
The Chrysler bldng and the Empire State building battled it out to be the tallest building, with the end result of the Empire "Giving the Shaft" to the chrysler...that's where the saying comes from. (the spire at the top was put on at the very end....hence giving the shaft)
The first Neon sign ever was brought to us by Pepsi Cola.
Who would think that so many trees exist on MNHTN
Up the hudson riv. so cool.
And then later that night, I had to work.
Shelly gave me this AWESOME Texas tshirt that I wear with pride. I am totally in with the Texas crowd now.
Last Tuesday was a beautiful day (finally), so Lara and I went out, hitting the East Village. We had a bit more ambition , but only made it to 2 locales.
Went to LIT to see our friend, LORI.
She's a total rockstar
check out this girl behind me sitting at the bar.....hahah...
Then we went to 2A, where Heather was working. We ordered AWESOME Pizza from the Pizza Shop up the street. So delicious.
our empty box:
Steph stopped in to say hi
None of us verbalized "Make a funny face" it just happened this way.
And here's the Hollywood-Red-Carpet-Behind-the-Shoulder-Look
VICTORIA and Heather
Julian and Landon came in to meet us too!
Victoria
We closed 2A down. And then I took the train home, only to emerge from the subway with squinting eyes as the sun had risen...
Since I've come back to New York, the East Coast Climate has turned into a Pacific Northwest Climate. It's rained probably everyday and the sun rarely comes out from behind the clouds. Maybe 6 good days this whole month. Maybe.
But when you get Lemons, you make Lemonade (from what I've been told. I, however, cut them up and use them in cocktails.) SO when you get rain, you let it rain and clear it out ...TAKE IT DJ WEBSTAR~
So Bday party at Colin friend's Brian's place. Even though it rained, the roof was the place to be. Spiked Margs and an Umbrella Party:
Took a car into the city. Went to the Delancy Bar where I met up with EJ. Then we left and met up with Kymmie P and the girls of Team 6A
Then we took a cab to BROOKLYN....
The tequila flask comes in handy during the carride:
Wreck Room. My cell phone held EJ's stool when he went to the b.room.
Then went back to my PAD and met Steve and Landon. They cooked us some goodies:
Im telling you, this always happens
Im gonna wear these glasses when I drive to NE
American Gothic the end homies. the end. Lessons to be learned: Always Carry at least ONE umbrella with you at all times (i bring two because you never know when youre gonna run into an EJ without one). and REMEMBER:
Yesterday, I woke up with the ambition to go into the city and walk through the chelsea galleries, or do something else inspiring. I also was down to go see "The Hangover" which I heard was hilarious. On the flip side, my sister has been through a rough couple of weeks with friends in town, taking them out and about, working, and six flags (which just declared bankrupcy...). So we decided to rent movies and keep it to Park Slope. nice.
The movies we rented: "House Bunny" with Anna Farris - I thought this would be funny - and "Confessions of a Shopaholic" - which we thought would be mindless entertainment.
This is how I felt:
Lara slept through House Bunny and we stopped Shopaholic 3 times considering doing something else, finally turning it back on to shut it off for a fourth and final time.
Then we got out and went for a walk!
Beautiful evening.
Walked to her friend's restaurant in Fort Greene and sat in the garden, having wine.
Perfect.
Then I trained into the city and met Kym and Serena. Serena happens to be a rep for Peroni, so whenever she goes to her clients' bars, Peroni - THE MOST DELICIOUS BEER IN THE WORLD - is on the house. Fantastic.
We did a couple bars. Met some kids. Kym and I lingered at the last bar - Tribeca Tavern - and met this great guy, Kyle, that reminded me of Cliff Claven. He grows his own habenero peppers and blends his own hot sauce becuase tobasco doesn't do it for him. So cool.
The moon was SPARKLING over bushwick last night, and i had to snap a couple. It was wild. I saw more with my naked eye, but it could've been prisms through my glasses...and now that I think about it, it was probably the pollution in the atmosphere that made it do this. Still cool.
My mom always said that I'm cool.
